Regular Board Meeting Village of Odell, Illinois

 

Council Room, Odell, Illinois, Monday March 11, 2024 a Regular Board Meeting was held this date at 7:00pm, at Village Hall, Council Room, 213 S. Front Street, with Mayor Brian Mills presiding and with proper notice having been posted.

 

Roll Call

Roll call showed the following Trustee members were physically present: Brian Verdun, David Thome, Randy Pagel, and Steve Verdun

Minutes of January 8, 2024 Regular Meeting; January 16, 2024 Special Meeting; & February 12, 1024 Regular Board Meeting

Trustee Brian Verdun moved to approve the January 8, 2024; January 16, 2024; and February 12, 2024 Minutes; second by Trustee David Thome;

Approved by roll call vote:

Yeas: Brian Verdun, David Thorne, Randy Pagel, and Steve Verdun – 4; Nays: None

 

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s report of Bank Ending Balances and the Fund Summary for the months ending January 31, 2024 and February 29, 2024 are present for review and approval. Ending bank balances as of February 28, 2024 are as follows:

Monthly Bills

Board Listing Report #229 ran on March 11, 2024 at 11:l0am representing all bills for the Village due in March and the between Meeting Paid Bill List for March for $9,880.75 were presented for payment approval. Mayor Mills reported that both CD’s have been renewed for a 9-month period.

The Police have provided a Police Activity Report for the month of February.

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Building Permit for Communication Tower at Odell Grade School

Mayor Mills reported that the Odell Grade School has not met to discuss the Communication Tower. Issue tabled until the April Meeting.

 

Condemnation of Properties Identified as a Public Danger

Attorney Ehrgott indicated that the first step toward condemnation of the two identified properties would be an inspection of each property.

Miscellaneous Old Business

Mayor Mills informed the board that the RO went down recently. The RO is 25 years old. A module for our present system was found, but the system needs to be updated to today’s technology. The estimated cost is around $4,000.00.

 

Bike path tree memorials have been set at a $250.00 donation.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Fiber Notice of Installation

Attorney Ehrgott reported that there are two companies that picked up permit applications. He indicated that we will need to get our Engineer’s involved when the permits are submitted.
